The main attribute of the Gothic Quarter is the antique aspect of its buildings, narrow streets and the near absence of traffic. Barrio Gótico, Spanish for ‘Gothic Quarter,’ is one of the oldest and most beautiful districts in Barcelona. It is a labyrinth of small streets full of little bars, restaurants and shops. The neighbourhood is part of the Ciutat Vella, Catalan for ‘the old city,’ and is situated right in the city center: it stretches from the famous Ramblas to Via Laietana.
El Born is between Via Laietana and Barceloneta and is served by the metro stops Barceloneta and Jaume 1 which are on the same line. Las Ramblas and the center of the city are a pleasant 10 minute walk away. El Born is one Barcelona’s trendiest and most popular neighborhoods famous for its unique medieval streets
