Le cours commence par la visite du marché local Santa Caterina où, pendant que vous circulerez parmi les différents stands, tous vos sens seront titillés par les étalages colorés et parfumés des produits exposés à profusion. Le chef vous accompagnera durant cette visite et vous conseillera sur la façon de choisir les meilleurs ingrédients frais, de saison et localement cultivés.
Ouvert en 1848, le marché Santa Caterina est le premier commerce public couvert de Barcelone. Il a été récemment rénové sans toutefois rien perdre de son cachet traditionnel. Sa toiture ondulante, aux couleurs vives, a été conçue par les architectes Enric Miralles et Benedetta Tagliabue. Composé de 325 0000 pièces de céramique et chatoyant de plus de soixante tonalités représentant celles des fruits et légumes vendus sur les lieux, ce toit est franchement spectaculaire.

L’atelier culinaire de Sent Sovi est situé à El Born, quartier de la Ciutat Vella relevant d’un district plus vaste, le Sant Pere, Santa Caterina i la Ribera.
Logé entre le Quartier Gothique et le Parc de la Ciutadella, El Born est un des coins historiques de Barcelone, abritant certains des plus anciens édifices de la ville. Très en vogue tout en demeurant véridique, l’on y croise des maîtres artisans comme les luthiers et les verriers.
